Maiden Voyage was established in 2005 to provide an opportunity for young people, from diverse backgrounds and abilities, to learn new skills and experience the excitement of sailing in a modern ocean-going yacht.

Our Objective is:
“To educate young persons and people with disabilities, in seamanship and navigation through sail training, so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved.”

The aims of the charity:

• Conflict management skills
• Reliability
• Greater self-confidence gained from experience of working co-operatively in a challenging and positive environment
• Safety/situational awareness

• Other transferable life skills, which otherwise might not have been available

Who is it for?
Maiden Voyage is based mainly in Wales. It aims to promote sailing primarily to young people from the socially excluded and disadvantaged sectors, but any person would be welcome to participate during the fund-raising and private chartering activities, either in groups or as individuals.
